Time for a RESET | re-issued

Originally, I wrote, 'As the church begins to emerge from Lockdown, it's time to fix our eyes afresh on Jesus - the author and perfector of our lives.' But it's time for another REBOOT, and especially when believers on another continent want access to this material. So RESET has been re-issued on Amazon for accessibility, as a paperback and a Kindle e-book.

The other day my cable TV was playing up. I just wanted to relax and watch a repeat of something old. The box with all my recorded shows was being pretty unresponsive. I'd press a button on my remote - nothing seemed to happen. But, oh, wait, (yawn!) and wait some more, the instructions were being followed but at a snail's pace. It was frustrating. Something that had always been there, which for relaxation or news headlines was playing up. Somehow, I think I would have been happier if it just broke and the screen went blank. The sluggish behaviour was so irritating. I imagined phoning the Technical Support People. Though I really didn't want to end up on HOLD for minutes on end.

I was stuck. actually that's not true. My TV and relevant gadgetry was pretty much stuck. I was not stuck, I was... erm? Growing impatient - that's a polite way of describing my agitated state.

What did I do?

I unplugged the TV, the satellite box, and switched off the juice. Counted to thirty in my head very slowly. Why? Why not? I plugged everything back together switched on the mains - and left the room. I went to the kitchen and boiled the kettle (always sensible in a crisis moment - see my Holistic Spirituality module). Fifteen minutes later I went into the lounge. The TV was on. I picked up the remote and changed channels - perfect. I pressed another button and entered my recorded menu - perfect. Everything was responding as it ought. My sluggish equipment had needed a RESET.

And that's my cheesy, but true, modern day parable - avoid sluggish Christianity, reach for the RESET or just CLICK HERE for .com or CLICK HERE for .co.uk to read a book that was inspired by both God and coat-hangers.
