Though Simon Rennie has been in church-based ministry for over 30 years - who is he?
Though I grew up in a fairly emotionally suppressed environment, when I met Jesus in a dream at 13 years of age, I instantly connected with God as a friend. Almost miraculously, I became a worshipper, I delighted in my second language - praise! But how come this shy supressed teenage boy became such a lover of Jesus? I still have no real rational answer beyond - Jesus! Sadly, it was still some years later before I found emotional healing in how I could adequately relate to other human beings. Much to the distress of my wife at the time. Thankfully, me and God were the best of friends from the get go! Though not perfect. Not healed. Still flawed. Still undisciplined. Whilst others had to continue putting up with my social awkwardness, God was having none of it. He found me. Saved me, and drew me closer. Miracles of miracles, He gave me a heart of praise, at a time when I couldn't even define the word 'feelings'.
The video capture photo above pictures me during the 2021 Lockdown. There I am, Bible, guitar and mic,
Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Saviour. Praise the Lord!
